Better Than Us: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald It's all handsomely, thoughtfully made, and well worth checking out. Sep 18, 2019 Full Review Better Than Us: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Hannah Brown Jerusalem Post It uses a police procedural format, plus a look at a detective's troubled family, to tell a tale of corruption and greed that is about humanity as much as it's about robots. Nov 15, 2019 Full Review Better Than Us: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Richard Yu Cinema Escapist [Better Than Us] offers a more hopeful view of a society where robots augment and supplement humanity, rather than simply coming in conflict with or replacing it Sep 9, 2019 Full Review Better Than Us: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) John Boland Irish Independent I've watched two episodes, which aren't without their implausibilities, but the storyline is intriguing and the little girl who plays Sonya is terrific. Aug 26, 2019 Full Review Better Than Us: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Brett White Decider While there are a lot of robot/meaning-of-sentience-driven sci-fi stories you can already stream on Netflix, Better Than Us stands just apart enough to justify its existence. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/04/24 Full Review Christop C This is the first Russian show I've seen and all I can say is WOW!!!I can't wait for the next season and I really hope they move forward with this show I absolutely loved it. This is like when I was a kid watching shows about future tech we could only dream of, that is common place today. This is definitely in my top 10 awesome!!!! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/24 Full Review Albert W This show is a hardcore thinking drama that takes place in the near future about what happens when a prototype robot is designed that breaks Asimov's 3 Laws of Robotics. The show is well acted and the English dubbing is well done. If you want to see what the contents of the original script were, turn the subtitles on.There are multiple threads weaving in and out of the story that add to the show's complexity as the different actors in each thread cross paths. A lot of the aspects of corporate power, corruption, and government are very Russian and interesting to see narratively. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/27/23 Full Review Thomas B The script and story arcs aren't groundbreaking, but the show displays the fascinating effects of near-human robots within society."Better Than Us" reveals how robot assistants could greatly improve the lives of humans while also creating issues for human employment and personal relationships between couples. After several episodes, I couldn't help but root for the main protagonist to fall in love with the Arisa, the somewhat flawed but extremely loyal next-gen robot that would do anything for her family. The show displays how dangerous it would be to have a robot that has the ability to kill a human being, while also showing humans killing each other on a massive scale.I hope the show gets a second season to flesh out more ideas on how future technology might change our world, in both positive and negative ways. Plus the actress who portrays Arisa is extremely beautiful and fun to watch. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/15/23 Full Review Peter K Very well done on production on robotic A1 -- more than a bit ahead of its time. Dubbing was very good and made the long 16 episode series go smoother. I wouldn't look for Season 2 as it has been reported that Netflix has pulled its production out of Russia.
